The County Assembly of Machakos on Monday convened a Special Sitting to officially swear in Kisoi Antony, the newly elected Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Mumbuni North Ward. The ceremony followed the November 27, 2025 by-election, which was held to fill the seat left vacant after the passing of the late Gideon Kavuu.

The Sitting, presided over by Speaker Anne Kiusya, brought together MCAs and invited guests who filled the Public Gallery to witness the oath-taking. Hon. Kisoi took the oath of office amid applause, marking the beginning of his tenure to complete the remainder of the ward’s electoral term.

In his maiden address, Kisoi paid a heartfelt tribute to his predecessor, describing the late Kavuu as a dedicated leader whose legacy he intends to honour through committed service. “I step into this role with deep respect for the work of the late Hon. Gideon Kavuu. His contribution to the people of Mumbuni North will continue to inspire my leadership,” he noted.

He further expressed profound gratitude to the residents of Mumbuni North for the trust they have placed in him during the by-election. Emphasising his vision for people-centered leadership, he pledged to remain diligent, responsive, and effective in addressing the needs of his constituents. Kisoi also acknowledged the support he received from the Wiper Party and the wider Kamba community, attributing his victory to their unity and confidence.

The Assembly extended its congratulations to Kisoi Antony, wishing him success as he embarks on his new chapter of public service. His swearing-in sets the stage for renewed representation and revitalised engagement in Mumbuni North Ward.
