A suspected drug courier’s covert mission to smuggle cocaine into the country was foiled at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) detectives intercepted her shortly after arrival.
The suspect, 34-year-old Muli Ayan Ndunge, had just landed from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, when officers—acting on precise intelligence—moved in and quietly escorted her to the ANU offices for monitoring.
During observation, Ndunge expelled 14 pellets of cocaine, prompting detectives to maintain close surveillance. A short while later, she emitted another 14 pellets, bringing the total to 28 pellets of cocaine, weighing 912.74 grams and valued at approximately Sh3.65 million on the streets.
A subsequent X-ray examination confirmed that no additional drugs remained in her system, effectively sealing the evidence against her.
Ndunge is being held in custody as detectives finalize investigations ahead of her arraignment.
