Bare Sahara Ahmed,

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media alleging that a suspect arrested over alleged inciteful remarks had been released on bond.
In a statement issued to clarify the situation, the DCI confirmed that the suspect, identified as Bare Sahara Ahmed, remains in lawful custody and has not been released under any circumstances.
According to detectives, the suspect was apprehended following the circulation of a viral video containing remarks deemed inciteful and potentially harmful to national cohesion. Authorities say the arrest followed a swift but thorough review of the footage, alongside ongoing investigations aimed at establishing the full context and intent behind the statements.
The DCI further indicated that the suspect has already been processed and is scheduled to appear before the Kahawa Law Courts.
The agency emphasized that any claims suggesting otherwise are misleading and should be treated as fake news intended to misinform the public.
While reaffirming its commitment to upholding constitutional freedoms, the DCI cautioned that freedom of expression must be exercised within the boundaries of the law. It warned that statements capable of inciting division, hatred, or threatening peaceful coexistence will attract firm legal action.
Members of the public have also been urged to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and refrain from sharing inflammatory content that could escalate tensions.
