Residents of Kibwezi West are set to benefit from improved access to government services following the official operationalization of the newly created Kavete Division, a move aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency at the grassroots.
The area Member of Parliament, Mwengi Mutuse, presided over the unveiling of an Assistant County Commissioner who will spearhead operations in the new division. The administrative unit will serve residents of Kiboko and Twaandu, bringing services closer to the people.
Speaking during the event, Mutuse emphasized the critical role played by the National Administration in ensuring effective service delivery across the country. He noted that the establishment of Kavete Division is part of a broader effort to decentralize government functions and respond to the needs of local communities.
To facilitate the smooth rollout of operations, the legislator announced that he had allocated KSh 1.2 million towards the modernization and upgrading of offices for the newly appointed administrator. He further revealed plans to oversee the construction of permanent office facilities in the near future.
Mutuse described the operationalization of the division as a long-awaited milestone, noting that residents had consistently called for the creation of a new administrative unit to ease access to essential services.
“This has been one of the key requests from the people of this area for many years. Its realization is truly a dream come true,” he said.
The MP also lauded the national government, led by President William Ruto, for responding to the needs of his constituents and supporting the establishment of the new division.
The creation of Kavete Division is expected to enhance coordination of government services, improve security management, and accelerate development initiatives in the region.
Mutuse expressed optimism that the new administrative unit will spur growth and improve livelihoods, calling on residents to support government efforts and work closely with local administrators.
He concluded by expressing hope for the division’s success, invoking blessings for its growth and development.
