Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) Party Leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka was officially endorsed as the party’s 2027 presidential candidate during a charged National Delegates Congress (NDC) at Uhuru Park on Friday, pledging to restore hope, dignity, and prosperity to a nation he described as “wounded by corruption, overtaxation, and betrayal of public trust.”
Accepting the nomination “with a full and grateful heart,” Kalonzo promised to “devote every effort of body, mind, and spirit” to lead what he called a “revolution of hope” that would reclaim Kenya from what he termed as “bottomless corruption and top-down greed.”
“Our people are suffering, and this suffering is not accidental — it is the direct result of poor leadership and misplaced priorities,” Kalonzo said to thunderous applause. “But Kenya’s spirit is unbroken. Together, we shall rebuild our economy and restore dignity to every household.”
In a fiery 40-minute address, the Wiper leader launched a blistering attack on President William Ruto’s government, accusing it of weaponizing taxation, capturing state institutions, and eroding national values.
He decried what he termed as a “regime of punishment,” where citizens are “overtaxed, underpaid, and overburdened,” saying the government’s economic policies had turned Kenya into “an economic funeral.”
“They call it Bottom-Up Economics, but what we see is bottomless corruption,” he charged. “This is not an economic plan — it is an economic burial.”
Kalonzo also condemned the handling of last year’s Gen Z protests, saying the administration had “lost the right to lead” after using live bullets against young demonstrators demanding accountability.
“A government that silences its own children has lost its moral compass,” he declared. “Ruto ordered for you to be shot in the legs for exercising your rights. I urge you to shoot Ruto at the ballot — not with bullets, but with votes.”
The crowd roared in response, chanting Wiper’s new battle cry: “Komboa Kenya! Wantam!”
Kalonzo outlined a sweeping reform agenda anchored on economic revival, integrity in leadership, and youth empowerment. He pledged to roll back punitive levies such as the Affordable Housing Tax, restore affordable healthcare, and invest in education and innovation.
“No child should ever be denied education because of poverty,” he said. “Professionalism, not Rutoism, will get you a job.”
He promised to deliver a 24-hour economy, revitalize manufacturing and agriculture, and restore Kenya’s international image, which he said had been “tarnished by greed and diplomatic blunders.”
“We will build a just, safe, and united Kenya — no more abductions, no more fear,” he said. “Health will not be a privilege; it will be a right.”
In a speech laced with emotion and religious conviction, the former Vice President urged Kenyans to register to vote, describing the 2027 election as a defining moment for the nation.
“The time for lamentation is over; the time for excuses is gone. The moment for change is now,” he said. “When we rise together, no mountain is too high, no government can suppress us.”
He saluted farmers, teachers, youth, and small business owners as the “true backbone of Kenya,” vowing to lead a coalition of patriots and reformists into the next election under the banner of “The United Coalition.”
The Uhuru Park event, attended by thousands of delegates and supporters, drew high-profile guests, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, and Speaker Emeritus Justin Muturi, who were recognized as “special observers.”
Kalonzo concluded with a rallying declaration that signaled the start of a full-scale campaign:
“The Wiper Patriotic Front is ready! The United Coalition is ready! The time is now to Komboa Kenya and end the Ruto disaster!”
As the crowd chanted “Wantam! Komboa Kenya!”, the Wiper leader walked off the podium — a man reborn for the 2027 presidential race, positioning himself as the face of hope, justice, and patriotic renewal.
