Police in Makueni Subcounty are holding three brothers in connection with the gruesome killing of a 36-year-old man in Itandî village, Kilala Sub-location, on Saturday night.

According to Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Paul Langat, the deceased, Fidelis Mutinda Kituku, was allegedly attacked following a long-standing land dispute.

“The deceased had multiple deep cuts on the head, neck, and left hand. They also set him ablaze, burning the body beyond recognition,” Langat told Soo TV on Sunday.

The suspects — identified as Lewis Mbelo Musyoki and his twin brothers, Mwanza and Mbatha — are being held at Wote Police Station and will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.

“When police visited the home where the brothers worked as housekeepers, they recovered a trouser stained with blood,” Langat added.

The body of the deceased has been moved to Makueni County Referral Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
