Wiper leaders and allied opposition figures have firmly ruled out any possibility of party leader Kalonzo Musyoka joining forces with President William Ruto, dismissing such talk as "cheap propaganda" and declaring that Kalonzo cannot work with what they termed a "murderous regime."

Speaking during a charged rally in Kaviani, Kathiani Constituency on Thursday, Kathiani MP Robert Mbui set the tone for the gathering, stating unequivocally that Kalonzo would be on the 2027 presidential ballot—and not as part of the Kenya Kwanza administration.

“There are people lying to themselves that Kalonzo can work with people who have blood of our children in their hands,” Mbui said. “He cannot work with a murderous regime. These stories you see being written all over are nothing but propaganda.”

Mbui also signaled a renewed opposition alliance across regional lines, saying: “We are working with our cousins from Mt. Kenya to send President Ruto home. We are the Mt. Kenya South.”

The MP further raised alarm over the handling of public funds, alleging that money paid by citizens through the e-Citizen platform is being channeled to a politically-connected family.

“This is unacceptable. We want a comprehensive annual report detailing how that money is spent. Kenya cannot be looted by one family while the rest of us suffer,” Mbui said.

Nyandarua Senator John Methu echoed Mbui’s sentiments, stating that the people of Mt. Kenya regretted backing Ruto in 2022.

“William Ruto keeps asking how he will go—we ask him how did he come?” said Methu. “We made him president. We seek forgiveness from Kenyans because we were lied to. We thought he was a God-fearing man, but now he is killing our children and stealing from Kenyans.”

Methu warned that the same political force that made Ruto president can remove him from power.

“We respect you, Mr. President, but we do not fear you. We built your government and we can bring it down,” he said.

He further accused Ruto of disrespecting the Kamba community, saying: “Even if you don’t respect Kalonzo or the Kamba people, don’t send a Class 3 dropout like Oscar Sudi to insult us. Don’t send the likes of Farouk Kibet who haven’t seen the inside of a classroom.”

Kajiado North MP Onesmus Ngogoyo added his voice, branding Ruto a "pathological liar" who has failed on key promises, especially in the education sector.

“He lied to university students that education would be affordable, yet it’s now more expensive than ever,” Ngogoyo said. “He has destroyed the economy and betrayed the foundation laid by President Kibaki and Kalonzo.”

He warned the Kamba community against being lured by the government’s so-called empowerment programmes: “If you really care about our people, fix the roads, end water scarcity, and create real jobs—not these 100 and 200-shilling handouts.”

Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi voiced serious concerns about possible election manipulation, claiming that some national IDs might have dual serial numbers, which could compromise the integrity of the vote.

“We might be singing 'one-term government' but end up being rigged out 10–0,” he warned. “If it’s true that one will only need an ID to vote, then this opens the floodgates for fraud.”

He also questioned the source of the vast sums of money being handed out under the empowerment initiatives: “In just under two months, over Sh200 million has been disbursed. What business generates that kind of money? This is not empowerment—it’s looting.”

The rally marked a clear escalation in opposition rhetoric and signaled the sharpening of political lines as the 2027 election race begins to take shape.
