Machakos nominated MCA Anna Ndilo has officially withdrawn her support for the impeachment motion against County Assembly Speaker Ann Kiusya, even as pressure mounts from her own party to have her removed over allegations of misconduct and disloyalty.

In a letter dated June 19, 2025, addressed to the Machakos County Assembly Clerk, Ndilo—nominated under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA)—formally rescinded her earlier decision to support the motion.

“I, Hon. CPA Anna Ndilo, being a nominated Member of County Assembly under the United Democratic Alliance, do hereby withdraw my signature for impeachment of Ann Kiusya, Speaker of Machakos County Assembly, dated April 8, 2025,” the letter read.

Ndilo cited a commitment to unity and a desire to focus on developmental goals for Machakos residents as the reasons behind her withdrawal.

“My decision is borne from my dedication to building unity and ensuring that Machakos County progresses for the benefit of our people,” she added.

However, the move comes just two days after UDA members in the Machakos Chapter submitted a petition to the party's Secretary General seeking the revocation of Ndilo's nomination. The petition accuses her of misconduct, insubordination, and betrayal of the party’s constitution and values.

“Hon. Ndilo has been openly associating with opposition politics that continuously undermine the leadership of His Excellency the President, who also serves as the party leader,” read part of the petition. “Her conduct not only brings disrepute to the party but raises questions about her loyalty to UDA’s mission and leadership.”

The party members further claimed that Ndilo’s decision to support the impeachment of Speaker Kiusya was politically motivated and executed without consultation with party structures—thereby undermining the Assembly's leadership.

Additional accusations leveled against Ndilo include: Publicly denouncing party officials; Failing to fulfill her party responsibilities; Inciting the public against the President and party leadership.

In particular, the petition cites a press conference in which Ndilo allegedly issued disparaging remarks against the party’s National Organising Secretary, Hon. Vincent Musyoka.

“Her statements were not only unsubstantiated but appeared deliberately crafted to damage the credibility of a senior party official,” the petition states.

The UDA members have called on the party’s top leadership to initiate legal procedures to remove Ndilo from the party register and revoke her nomination, arguing that she no longer represents the interests of the party

The unfolding drama places Ndilo at the center of a political storm within UDA, as internal rifts continue to play out publicly in Machakos County.
