Precious Blood Senior School Kilungu, one of Kenya's top-performing national public girls' boarding schools, came alive with colour, glamour and celebration during its annual Miss Precious Blood (Miss PB) 2026 beauty pageant held on Monday, July 27, 2026.
The event, which has become one of the school's most anticipated co-curricular activities, brought together students, teachers and invited guests in an evening that celebrated not only beauty but also confidence, talent, creativity and leadership.
The competition featured several categories, each showcasing the unique abilities of the contestants. Mitchell Kyalo was crowned Miss Precious Blood 2026, with Aisha Abdi finishing as the first runner-up.
Other winners included Natasha Mwikali, who emerged as the African Queen, with Anita True as the first runner-up; Audrey Iolevander, winner of the Miss Melamine category ahead of Shano D'Suza; Stacy Masoka, who won the Just Wear category with Esther Mumbi as the runner-up; Tiffany Ndanu, crowned Miss Me ahead of Bernice Ndinda; and Gloria Mukui, who took home the Runway Model title with Rachael Sila finishing second.
The event also recognized group and talent performances, with Clusters Group winning the Dance Crew category, Favour Dena emerging victorious in the Song Birds category, while Joy Mwongeli won the Queen of the Day (Q.O.D.) title.
Speaking moments after being crowned Miss Precious Blood 2026, an emotional Mitchell Kyalo thanked fellow students for their overwhelming support throughout the competition.
"I would love to thank each and every one of you. You hyped me up when I was walking on the runway and made everything so much better," she said.
Mitchell also appreciated the people who encouraged and prepared her to participate in the pageant, promising to mentor and support other students interested in beauty pageants and personal development.
"If anyone needs help in any beauty pageant or preparation for anything, you can always come to me. I will be there to help," she added.
African Queen winner Natasha Mwikali dedicated her victory to her friends, saying their encouragement carried her through difficult moments.
"This award really belongs to my friends because without them I don't think I would be here. They supported me through a very hard time and gave me the strength not to give up," she said.
Natasha encouraged fellow students never to lose hope even when they feel unsupported, assuring them that the 2026 winners would always be ready to mentor and encourage others.
Closing the event, Deputy Principal in charge of Curriculum Bernadetta Mathithi congratulated all contestants for their courage, noting that every participant was a winner for stepping onto the stage.
She thanked parents for their continued support, teachers for mentoring the students and the judges for carrying out their work professionally.
"It wasn't easy. We appreciate every contestant who participated and congratulate those who emerged victorious. To the winners, guard the crown with honour, guard the crown with beauty and above all, fear God," she said.
School Principal Esther Njue said the annual Miss Precious Blood pageant remains an important platform for nurturing well-rounded learners beyond academic excellence.
She noted that while Precious Blood Kilungu is renowned for outstanding academic performance, the institution also believes in developing confident, disciplined and responsible young women through co-curricular activities.
According to the principal, the pageant gives students an opportunity to express themselves, discover their talents, build self-confidence, improve public speaking skills and cultivate leadership qualities in a supportive environment. She added that the event also promotes teamwork, creativity, respect for diversity and healthy competition while reminding learners that true beauty is reflected in character, discipline, intelligence and service to others.
The colourful event ended with celebrations as students cheered the winners, marking another successful edition of a pageant that continues to inspire young women to pursue excellence both inside and outside the classroom.This version is suitable for publication in a newspaper or on a news website.
