President William Ruto has received a goodwill message from Mahamat Idriss Déby, delivered by Chad's Special Envoy Tahir Hamid Nguilin during a meeting at State House Nairobi.
During the meeting, President Ruto commended President Déby for his leadership and contribution to the development of Chad, as well as his role in advancing continental priorities, including institutional reforms within the African Union.
The Kenyan Head of State also congratulated Chad on the successful conduct of its presidential and parliamentary elections in 2024 and 2025, describing the polls as a demonstration of Africa's growing democratic progress.
President Ruto reaffirmed the strong diplomatic ties between Kenya and Chad, saying the relationship is founded on African solidarity, mutual respect and shared commitments to regional and global peace.
He also recalled the close cooperation between the two countries in the Kenya-led Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, noting that Chad assumed leadership of gang suppression operations after Kenya's initial command, helping sustain efforts to restore stability in the Caribbean nation.
