President William Ruto has been briefed on the progress of the business support component of the Nyota Programme at State House Nairobi ahead of the launch of its second round of funding on Friday.
The government will disburse KSh3 billion to 122,000 beneficiaries under the programme, with each recipient set to receive KSh25,000. Combined with an earlier disbursement of the same amount, every beneficiary will have received a total of KSh50,000 in business support.
According to the President, all beneficiaries have already completed a business development skills training programme to strengthen their entrepreneurial capacity before receiving the funds.
The nationwide launch will be held simultaneously at 18 venues across the country, bringing together beneficiaries from all 47 counties as the government steps up efforts to support small businesses, create jobs and promote economic empowerment.
