President William Ruto has arrived in Évian-les-Bains, France, to participate in the 2026 G7 Leaders’ Summit, where he is representing the interests and priorities of the African continent. The summit, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, is bringing together leaders of the world’s major economies and invited partner nations from June 15 to 17.
Ruto’s invitation reflects Kenya’s growing diplomatic influence on the global stage and his role in advancing Africa’s agenda on trade, investment, climate action, development financing, and reform of the international financial system.
Ahead of the summit, the President stated that he would use the platform to champion African interests and ensure the continent’s voice is heard in discussions on global economic growth, security, technology, and sustainable development.
The 2026 G7 Summit is being held in Évian-les-Bains, France, and has also invited leaders from several non-G7 nations, including Kenya, India, Brazil, and South Korea.
